Practice & transportation

Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:30 pm

  • Practice is at our Thalia site. Rowers must keep at least a 60% attendance rate to stay in good standing.

  • Princess Anne High students walk together from school. Other students need a ride, or can take a Virginia Beach academy bus with help from the VBCPS transportation office.

  • If wind cancels water practice, optional dryland training may run at the site. Coach Jon posts status on BAND.

  • Please be good neighbors: park courteously and slow down on the residential streets.

Regatta days

All-day events

  • Report times run from 6:30 to 8 am depending on role and event, posted on BAND a few days ahead. Everyone helps break down and load the trailer.

  • Transportation isn’t provided, but carpools are easy to arrange on BAND.

  • Pasta parties the night before and team tent snack sign-ups are posted on BAND.

  • Bring water, a chair, layers, a hat, bug spray or sunscreen, and binoculars or a camera.
